I posted this to a local news outlet in response to another comment. It was blocked, but I wanted to save it here.

Let's make this clear, whether Trump is a butthole or not has no factor in our day-to-day lives. Trump is simply a novelty, but he was a very effective leader and certainly a master at international politics, yes, I said that. On the other hand, Biden may be squeaky clean, but his disaster of a presidency HAS cost my family, a great deal. I couldn't care less about a person's private life. I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news; ALL politicians are corrupt, and it's impossible to find one that isn't, including Biden. I don't care if Biden sniffs women's and young girl's hair although it does creep me out. I DO care about when he gives my tax dollars to pay for the education of others, when I on the other hand not able to afford to go for myself. It's not my fault if you can't pay your loans back, YOU signed on the dotted line. So I ask, who is the most corrupt? The man who gets convicted for 34 misdemeanors that are magically turned into feloni

Intermittent fasting...

Image
Intermittent fasting, or IF, is a dieting strategy in which people cycle between periods of eating and fasting. The idea behind IF is that by limiting the amount of time you spend eating, you allow your body to focus on healing and repairing itself, rather than constantly processing food. The image for this blog is ironically, incorrect. Right at the beginning of the fast, you can be ravenously hungry, but this hunger goes away very rapidly. In fact, I feel much fuller when I am fasting then at any other time. It's amazing really. There are a few different ways to do intermittent fasting, but one of the most popular methods is to fast for 16 hours and then eat during an 8-hour feeding window. This is called the 16/8 method. However, many people choose to take things a step further and fast for longer periods of time, like 24, 36, or even 72 hours. Longer fasting periods like these allow your body to enter a state of ketosis, in which it burns fat for energy instead of glucose. Whe

Children and so-called "gender affirmation care"...

First and foremost, it's important to note that every individual deserves the right to live as their true selves, regardless of their gender identity. For adults who have decided to undergo gender affirmation care, it's crucial that they have access to the resources they need to feel comfortable and recognized in their own bodies. This can include hormone therapy, gender confirmation surgeries, or other forms of medical intervention. However, when it comes to children, the conversation becomes more complicated. While it's important to validate and support young people as they navigate their gender identities, it's also essential that we prioritize their long-term health and well-being. This means protecting them from body mutilation or drugs that suppress natural hormones until they are old enough to make informed decisions about their bodies. There are a few reasons for this. First, children's brains and bodies are still developing, which means that the full exten

My take on how to create a steak masterpiece!

Image
Reverse searing is a cooking method that has gained quite a bit of popularity in the steak-loving community in recent years - and for good reason. By cooking your steak low and slow at first, and finishing it off with a sear at the end, you can achieve a perfectly cooked, juicy steak with a delicious crust. Here's how to reverse-sear a steak: Choose your steak: The first step is to choose a high-quality steak. Look for marbling (also known as intramuscular fat), which will make your steak juicy and tender. Preheat your oven: Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C). Season your steak: Season your steak generously with salt, pepper, and any other spices you like. Slow-cook your steak: Place your steak on a wire rack over a baking sheet and transfer it to the oven. Cook until your steak reaches an internal temperature of about 120°F (49°C) for medium-rare (or your desired doneness). This could take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour, depending on the thickness of your steak. Rest your st

Your health and insulin...

Image
The role of insulin in our body is crucial and its regulation is necessary for maintaining good health. Insulin is a hormone produced by the pancreas that lets your body use glucose (sugar) for energy. In this post, we will discuss how excess insulin, called hyperinsulinemia, can lead to other diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, gout, obesity, sleep apnea, and cognitive issues. Hyperinsulinemia occurs when there is an excessive amount of insulin in the blood. This can happen when someone has insulin resistance or when they have taken medication or injected too much insulin. The excess insulin circulating in the blood can lead to insulin resistance, a condition where the body's cells fail to respond to insulin's signal, resulting in high blood glucose levels. Insulin resistance is the primary cause of type 2 diabetes. When the body's cells become insulin resistant, the pancreas tries to compensate by producing more insulin. However, if it continues to produce too much
